Review Copy of Cutie Pies provided by Riptinde publishing for an honest review. As far as I can tell, this is this author’s only published work so far but I’d happily read more from her. There are quite a few humorous moments and ‘sticky’ situations that the characters get themselves into and I’m pleased to say that not only do Joey and Mick get their HEA but unexpectedly, so do another couple. However, despite this, Mick keeps on coming back to the shop and it’s obvious that he is as interested in Joey as Joey is in him. There’s only one problem – Mick has admitted to being in a relationship. Joey tries to remain professional when helping Mick make choices about his purchases but there’s just something about the other man’s blush that catches his attention. Co-workers and best friends Joey and Becca work hard under the watchful eye of their boss Kate but when the boss isn’t around, the pair make their own entertainment and definitely don’t flirt with the customers – well, not until shy Mick comes in and catches Joey’s attention. Cutie Pies is the name of a sex shop that may be small but has everything you could possibly need. This may be a short story but it’s packed with shenanigans and there’s never a dull moment. As the two grow closer together, Joey starts to wonder what Mick really wants from him, and whether he can risk falling in love with someone who might not be free to love him back. Mick is shy and sweet, but also secretive and uncertain.

Joey can’t stop thinking about him, and Mick’s continued visits to the store make him even harder to forget. Except Mick’s large dark eyes, shy smile, and kissable lips-along with the ten-inch dildo he bought-quickly win him a starring role in Joey’s nightly fantasies. When Mick, a new-to-town customer, walks in asking for a dildo, Joey thinks it’s all a part of the day’s work.

After his parents kicked him out years ago, the haphazard shop became his home away from home and is the only place where he can embrace his queer, quirky, and-okay-sometimes a little awkward self. Joey works at Cutie Pies, the smallest adult store in Sydney.
